Producer Competition powered by G-Technology

Outlook Festival have teamed up with SoundCloud to offer aspiring producers the opportunity to get their tune pressed and win an all expenses paid trip to this year’s Outlook Festival in Croatia – Europe’s Biggest Bass Music and Soundsystem Culture Festival!

After two rounds of public opinion based judging ten entrants will be shortlisted to become finalists – special guest judges from the industry will listen to the finalist’s productions and, along with their feedback on SoundCloud, three winners will be chosen.

The Prizes:

The first prize winner will bag an all-expenses paid trip to this year’s Outlook Festival in Croatia AND will get ten exclusive dubplates of their winning tune made. Blaow! Plus a G-SPEED Q, courtesy of G- Technology by Hitachi, and an Impulse 61 complete with gig bag from Novation.

Two runners up will also win two tickets to this year’s Outlook Festival each and, courtesy of G- Technology by Hitachi, a G-DRIVE Slim.

Instructions:

Upload an original production tune that you have made and could imagine being played at Outlook.

Name the tune ‘YOUR NAME – Outlook Festival 2012 Competition Entry’ and tag it ‘Outlook Competition 2012′. If you fail to tag it correctly, your tune may be missed!

Judging:

Entrants will be judged on factors including (but not limited to) number of plays, favourites, positive feedback, originality and technical ability.

Producer’s must gain over 500 plays to be considered for the long list. Producer’s must then gain over 100 favourites to be considered for the short list.

Outlook are looking for Producer’s who show commitment and are able to use the tools available on SoundCloud and across the web to promote themselves effectively.

The final decision will be made by Outlook Festival and the special guest judges.

Voting:

The first round of the competition will run from now until 5pm Friday 16th March 2012. A tune must have over 500 plays to progress past this round.

The 2nd round will then run until 5pm 1st April 2012. A tune must be favourited by at least 100 people to qualify for the shortlist – more favourites means a higher chance of being shortlisted.

10 entrants will be shortlisted, after complying with the above requirements, with the winners announced 4th April 2012.

Please note: The three chosen winners will all win two VIP tickets, including two camping passes, to Outlook Festival 2012.

The first prize also includes: A return flight to the festival*, airport transfers and ten dub-plates of their winning tune.

*or up to £250 contribution towards travel, whichever is lesser.

Applicants MUST BE OF 18 YEARS OR OLDER

Checklist:

Make a tune (must be an original production)

Upload the tune to SoundCloud with correct cover art, labelling + tagging (as described above)

Hype the tune over the next 6 weeks

If you have received over 500 plays you will be long listed – so don’t upload your mix the day before the deadline!

Plus make sure you get people to favourite your mix to be considered for the short list.

Key Dates:

Competition starts: 17th February

First Round closes: 5pm 16th March – all submissions must be made before this date.

Competition closes: 5pm 1st April

Winners announced: 4th April

No purchase is necessary to enter this competition. Prize is non-transferrable and there is no cash alternative. The final decision lies with Outlook Festival. Outlook Festival reserve the right to withdraw from this competition at any time. Only unsigned artists can enter this competition; If you have had a release on a record label then you cannot enter.
